Patricia Postgate

Patricia Postgate was born in 1914 in Liverpool, where her father Thomas Eric Peet was an Egyptologist at the university. She accompanied him to his excavations at Amarna in 1921 at the age of seven. She read French and German at Oxford and married Ormond Postgate in Jerusalem in 1940. After the war like him she taught in Malvern and Winchester, dying in 2003.
