Thomas Brasch

Thomas Brasch (1945-2001) grew up in the German Democratic Republic. A protest over the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia led to a brief prison term, and in 1976, when it became clear he could not publish in the GDR, he moved to West Berlin, and found immediate success with his short stories, plays, poems and films.
