VISIONARY AIDS

Never seen
Because never thought?

A way: some thread not pulled through the maze
Though it glint level with the eye?

Sight reinforced by thought
Can work miracles.
Go on! glare-furious enough-at smoke
Lazy from the power station.
Billow it, speed it,
Rolling bouquets of carnations-
Another sunrise, if you like,
For the sullen street.

Fierceness of thought was all it took
To do that.

But eye, without cameras, cannot see
How, when a drop falls back
