MEETING UP

See, it is all one thing, now, this meadow
The cows strolling about have lain down in focus.
It is perfectly right there are more here than there
The bird is flying into, not over, the centre
Canals thick-standing in static air meander
With just direction and pull the grasses together,
The hummocks, the flitting butterflies, the cowpats
From the right hand of this picture comes a tractor
Its sound lassoos these objects as the track
It's going along frames the field, and winds
Through the wood off left. You cannot see
But know it goes out again, and comes back round
As arms of love hold in eccentric movements.

And look, we're here now, me, myself and I
And parts and pieces unanimously stand.
