ANOTHER WAKING

Was it a cat squealed or was it metal,
This grincement I heard as I awoke?
A cloud in the sky and a cat under the bed,
Both perhaps startled by my waking.
The cloud steamed forward, lumen de lumine,
A puff of white travelling over the blue.
The cat? There was an impact in the bushes,
