On a Dutch Picture

This realist knew there are no such clouds
  As those that ply the painted heights
Of his flatland sky. He had seen
  All kinds, no doubt, containing
Every sort of weather, and waiting for a word
  Out of the sea, to say at last
Which of the weathers it was to be.
  He might well have shown the moment
