Catching Up

Easy to find excuses not to write;
there's always something else to do instead.
Forgive me, let me put the matter right.

Where does the time go? Morning, noon and night,
I turn around, it's time to go to bed.
Easy to find excuses not to write.

Today is out. Tomorrow, yes, I might,
a two-line email so you don't see red;
forgive me, let me put the matter right.

What's that you say? You're busy too? Oh, quite.
It's such a struggle trying to keep ahead,
easy to find excuses not to write.

Thanks for your short message sent despite
my lack of news - it's all stored in my head -
Forgive me, let me put the matter right,
