Taking Sides
Easy prey for any nutter with a box
of watercolours, an internal teabreak,

trivial, yes, though daily astonishing,
the way so many clouds look like a thing

but are only water pinned out to dry,
another ocean orbiting Earth. I

believe the aggregations, whatever they
rough out on the notepad of my retina,

that a heavenly play of molten oxides
is a nuke over Sheffield, is taking sides.

Between us, we have folded the rainbow
