Thoughts

Andrew Wynn Owen
I. THE TASK

Mapmakers? No, more like composers, setting
         desire in step with speech,
   constructing, channelling, begetting
what once seemed out of reach:
the peaceful intra-variance of things,
a net that nature cast to teach
attentive senses. Tangled ivy slings
              organic links
         along a wall. Time flings
              its fractious brinks
   and hectic brevities against
              the baffled sphinx
of pattern-spattered truth, sought for and sensed.

II. STUFF

Widgity bugs, shoe trees, and jellied eels.
all these and so much more.
