The Witnesses

Vernon Scannell

Phantoms stationed in their places
Watch with white and grieving faces
As the lovers tell their lies;
Soon the need for truth or lying
Passes as the lovers, sighing,
Throw aside their last disguise.

Like two burning candles merging
Bodies melt in one white purging
...
Searching, please wait...
