Look out the window - half
A landscape, half its trees.
Switch focus. Reflections of
The rest float by on these.

At sixty miles an hour
The world's being folded back
Into a suitcase. Where
O where will I unpack?

That's where I live. That's where the Metro loops
Back on itself and heads for town again.
That's where I step on escalating slopes
That draw me slowly up into the open
That's cleansed of trees; and massive concrete slabs,
