Set 13: Mondo de Bonan Ridon
1.
Riddle
(tenth century?)/Anglo-Saxon
What in the world am I?
mostly I’m locked away but this girlfriend I know
sometimes takes me out for a good laugh
and buffs me for a bit in her hands
then takes me to her roaring Lord
who sticks his head right up inside me
all the way folks up to the gunnels
well gorgeous as I am I guess it’s my fate
to be stuffed solid with a hairy knob
if they can manage it what in the world am I
(answer: a Helmet)
2.
Bestseller
Ōtomo No Tabito (665–731)/Japan
So, well, sit in your bloody study
