We are pregnant
is not sometheen I’d-a-been liken tae say in
the past.
Ounly wan buddy’s ivver pregnant I widda
said.
Bit pregnant we are.
Peedie lugs, lanes and drains,
takan hid aal in:
eavesdrapper, echolilia patter merchant,
fock musician, question
mark;
film buff, inhaler o wur ancestors’ late
night cheese oan tosst, screensaver
in the Magis’ eyes.
Electric shocks jump doon wur legs
each time
we think o ye: in the centre, the centre
o us.
