Poem

Adrian Stokes

The cries of done out of it,done down
With more to come-forge counterplot-
Done down by people, body, fate
Obtain compulsively a rational run.

And rationally the leaves are seen as thin
And breezes won't divide the working out of hurt
The trees have subterfuge for root
The ferns imprint their vipers with disguise.
