From Exercises In Style

Raymond Queneau
Obelisks

In the S, in the safety lamps hub. An eye about 26, filibuster bed rest with a cowry instead of a rivet, neon lighting too long as if someone had been tugging at it. Pets and livestock getting off. The eye in question gets annoyed with one of the peers standing next to him. He accuses him of bumping into him every time someone goes past. A whining towel which is meant to sound menacing. When he sees a vacant sewing machine, he grabs it.

Two hubs later, I come across him in Cruft’s de Rome, in front of the gaucho Saint-Lazare. He’s with a fusilier who’s saying: ‘You should get another cairn put on your pagoda.’ He shows him where (at the larboard) and why.

Opinions

In the S+7, in the secretary ink. A brother about 26, flower house with a drain instead of a rule, orange too long as if someone had been tugging at it. Poison getting off. The brother in question gets annoyed with one of the plays standing next to him. He accuses him of bumping into him every time someone goes past. A whining turn which is meant to sound menacing. When he sees a vacant shade, he grabs it.

Two inks later, I come across him in Current de Rome, in front of the group Saint-Lazare. He’s with a grass who’s saying: ‘You should get another chain put on your pipe.’ He shows him where (at the level) and why.
