like a finger
telling the tale of a life
like a drunk
before falling silent at last
like a stiff

like two stiffs
stretched out by the sea
knowing how at last
our own fingers
like drunks
tell the tale of our lives

what starts up is life
as a future stiff
in a dancing cloud of drink
