Eats everything.
Mounts everything.
Hates everything.
Hears everything.
Learns nothing.

Delos 1961
i.m. Sally Belfrage (1936-94)

You were twenty-four, I was just twenty-four
When we sailed to the island of Delos.
Four of the stone lions roared at us,
It will all end in tears!
Then the lion who wasn't all there told us,
'Don't mind them, dears. Just so it ends.'
And end it did, and end it did not.
